Carlos Truan was born in Brownsville, Texas, and moved to Austin in 1995. After a few different jobs, he landed an apprenticeship and began tattooing in 1998.

He has since tattooed in shops throughout the U.S. and has worked in different styles of tattooing over the years. For the past eight years, he has specialized in black and gray fine-line tattooing.

He usually books one tattoo per day so that he can give the most to each client. You can expect conversation (if you’d like), stories, and tons of vegan snacks!

In his time off, he enjoys exercising, spending time with his family, making/building things, and playing with a skateboard.

Carlos is currently booked through July 2026.
